Dr. Kate Moss, doctoral lecturer in the CUNY SPS General Education and Liberal Studies programs, will be presenting a Praxis Poster (video presentation and live discussion) entitled “A Design for Student Leadership in Discussion Boards in Asynchronous Courses” at the Global Society of Online Literacy Educators (GSOLE) conference on January 28. This presentation is based on curriculum promoting leadership skills and experience in the COM 110 Digital Literacy course. This revised curriculum was developed under an initiative at CUNY SPS highlighting career-readiness skills as identified by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) in undergraduate courses.

Cariahnna Collazo, a student in the CUNY SPS BA in Sociology program, is quoted in this New York Times article about Mayor Adams' plan to require police officers to more regularly patrol subway stations and trains.

CUNY SPS BA in Psychology alum Dianne Galasso has been interviewed by Authority Magazine. In the article, "Rising Through Resilience: Dianne Galasso of Cobb Psychotherapy On The Five Things You Can Do To Become More Resilient During Turbulent Times", Galasso offers tips on how to withstand adversity and bounce back from difficult life events.

CUNY SPS Interim Dean Silva-Puras has been featured on Univision 41’s daily news program “Edicion Digital." During the interview, he discussed The Academy for Community Behavioral Health, a partnership between CUNY SPS's Office of Professional Education and Workplace Learning (PEWL), the Mayor’s Office for Economic Opportunity, and the Mayor’s Office of Community Mental Health. The academy offers free courses for social service providers in New York City.

Susan Herman, director of the Mayor’s Office of Community Mental Health, notes in this Op-Ed that CUNY SPS is partnering with the City to run its Academy for Community Behavioral Health.
