Andrea M. Brown serves as the Executive Director of Development at the CUNY School of Professional Studies (CUNY SPS), where she leads the school’s fundraising and alumni relations programs.

Prior to joining CUNY SPS, Andrea has raised millions of dollars while servicing in leadership roles such as Vice President of Development at the Institute for Community Living (ICL), Vice President of Philanthropy for Girls Inc. of New York City, and a Leadership Gifts Officer at Columbia University. She has also served as a consultant to organizations such as the Harvard Business School Club of New York (revising its alumni relations program) and the Peter Westbrook Foundation (fundraising).
Andrea began her career in the publishing industry, where she spent 15 years with houses specializing in reference, art, architecture, design and movie and television books. She concluded that chapter of her career as Director of Special Markets and Export Sales, overseeing global distribution and domestic specialty markets distribution and partnerships. Her publishing experience also includes roles at Rizzoli Publishers, Stewart, Tabori & Chang, and W.H. Freeman & Company.

Andrea holds a Bachelor of Science from Marymount College, Tarrytown (now Marymount College of Fordham University), a Certificate in Global Philanthropy from New York University, and a Certificate in Nonprofit Management Leadership from Columbia Business School. She is a past Board Member and Executive Committee Member of Women in Development, New York (WiDNY).

In her free time, Andrea enjoys traveling, reading, film, and nurturing her balcony garden.
